Custom Maps

Hi,

I've recently started a gunz pserver, and cant seem to find ANY tutorials on how to incorporate them into your server.

I just downloaded a pack of '70+' (appears to acctually be around 50) and If I just paste them into the map folder it says:
"error: cant create game".

So Imagine I have to do something with one of my .mrs setting files.

Hmm. OK. I must have ust got a faulty pack.

Also maybe your right, and 70 is a bit over exessive.

Look for maps with the size of 0, they wont work. Also, make sure you don't rename maps. That will also cause this error.








P.S.

Phoenix, posting the exact same thing I did reworded after me is still considered spam.

Hang On A Sec... Are you sure?

Because these maps seem to work on other pservers (so I've read).

For example this one I get the same error:

Just tried the SkillMaps, they also come up with the error..

Are you using a newer runnable? Some of the runnables don't allow custom maps to be used. Idk if anyone still uses those, but it could be your problem.

Your comment doesnt not relate to the topic at hand. It had no advice or direction towards the creator of this post. Therefore it is not related to the topic at hand. Spam is considered replies to something (commonly found as a thread in a forum) that does not have any point to it that persists to the topic at hand.

The point of my post was to inform the user and give him some advice, also to answer a question he had.

Tell me, what was the point of yours? Because it did not pertain to the subject at hand.

The skillmaps in the "70+ maps" release had a file size of 0. Do yours have that? Or are you using the later released ones?

Your first point is of no help to him. Your choice wouldn't solve his problem.
Second one is agreed. Some of them don't work.
In the third one, you ask him to paste those maps in the maps folder which he already did mention when he started this thread.

And you called me a spammer for pointing out your mistake in which you stated something which the user had already done before coming here with his problem.

I guess I'll stop now.

Try using the runnable that was released by that GUNZ guy. Its the unmasked v10 one. I dont have a link sorry, try searching, or look in the post i made about aristrum's colorer. I know theres a link in there.

First is advice, as i stated. If the user did not want advice, he would not have posted here.
So your spammed for the second one. I dont think we needed to know you agree.
As for the third one, this was taken from his post:

You can clearly notice him asking how to incorporate custom maps into a gunz server. Where as my post told him to put them in the maps folder. Therefore clearing up confusion and giving him guidance on how to do what he asked.

So in summary. Your wrong.

But he also mentioned that he did put the maps in the maps folder. It's natural that anyone would have tried it. So you didn't really have to repeat it.

Seeing as it didnt work im guessing he was confused as to how to do it, and wanted clarification if he was doing it right or not. Which i gave him.
