    Database Errors trying to connect

I'm so sorry to bother you all but can anyone help me, whenever I try connecting with the SSMSE or obdcad32 I keep getting an error:

    Code:
    TITLE: Connect to Server
    ------------------------------

    Cannot connect to MYCOMPUTERNAME\SQLEXPRESS.

    ------------------------------
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: -1)

    For help, click: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink?ProdName=Microsoft+SQL+Server&EvtSrc=MSSQLServer&EvtID=-1&LinkId=20476

    ------------------------------
    BUTTONS:

    OK
    ------------------------------

    Thats the message on SSMSE

On OBDCAD32 (or whatever) the error is in the attached file.

Note I am running Windows XP SP3

And without doing this I cannot host my GunzDB thus notn allowing it to be up

    ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

The SQL Server client cannot connect to the server. This error could be caused by one of the following reasons:

The firewall on the server has refused the connection.

A specified SQL Server instance name is not valid.

The SQL Server Browser service (sqlbrowser) is not started.

Re: Database Errors trying to connect

The firewall on the server has refused the connection.

I made sure my firewalls allowing the SQL ports

A specified SQL Server instance name is not valid.

I know the Instance name is SQLExpress, I copied information setting it up

The SQL Server Browser service (sqlbrowser) is not started.

I went into sevices.msc to make sure the service was running

Thanks for the attempt but these are not the solution to the problem I'm having with this damned microsoft product mssql
