I've had the same problem. You either entered the database info incorrectly, or installed the MySQL incorrectly.

Solutions:
- Re-install the MySQL with the correct options
- Make sure you entered the DB info correctly
- Make sure there isn't a syntax error
- Try using WAMP/XAMP Server
