[help]Cannot access server

Ok i just made a server using " [TUT] July and December Client and Server SETUP Guide!" and im sure i did everything right. Before when i used "127.0.0.1" IP it worked but not for my friend it could not acess server so i changed it to my wan IP and thts " ". Then when i tried to login it said "cannot acess server" for my friend and me so wtf..? Wht do i do to fix it so that other user's can connect to my server and i can to? thnx

ok 127.0.0.1 is ur localhost ip meaning only u can get in
nd since u cant use ur wan ip
it means its not a static ip so u or ur friend can not get in at all
im guessing u have a router
