still giving me that error after chaning the password at secriuty - logins - sa and changing the locator word to the password i still get error...

I had that problem, try unticking trusted connection.

Thats what I did, it popped up a few times but eventually it stopped and I could connect.

Did you install MSSQL with the SA Login or with Windows Authencation?

Try logging in to MSSMSE* with SQL Server Authencation.

EDIT: It looks like you logged on to Windows Authencation most of the time.
