[HELP] Some questions about designing

Hi, i have started design gunz, and i had some problems while trying editing files.
1. After i decompile mrs-file (like loading.mrs), editing the JPGs inside it (not items files, reg. pics), re-compile back to mrs again and place the mrs file in the client - the pictures thet i edited are showed in black. What am i doing wrong?

2. I found here a tutorial thet explains how to edit the map at the charcters select menu, i did the first part with the renaming and paste the text codes, but the dev-mode in there doesn't work for me, the gunz get crashed while loading, so i cant get cords for the rest of the tutorial. If someone can give me a working dev-mode and explain me how to use it, I thank him alot.

What do you mean about "updating the filelist.xml"? I havn't changed the names at all exept of the other tutorial. I need a solution for my first problem the second is less importent to me. Thanks.

You are talking about the bit numbers? Im noob ><
after I have done my edits and saved them insted of the originals, what I need to do? Rename what in filelist.xml?

No, you need to copy the bit numbers from the filelist that you create with Filelist XML Maker that ThievingSix made.
After that you need to unpack your system.mrs and change the old bit numbers from the original files in filelist.xml

REMOVE THE FILELIST XML MAKER AND FILELIST XML (the 2kb file, NOT the 200+ KB one that is in system.mrs)

Now pack the system.mrs and the other mrs you edited and it should work.

I'v got it. thanks alot.
i have another question: after i editing picturs like the loginpanel.tga at loadable.mrs - the file thet is the BG of the login panel, the edges thet supposed to dissapear are staying black. How can I mark things thet i don't want them to be visble?
