Hey, woundering how do you add custom weapons/armor?

Hello, i was woundering how would you add like diffrent colors to your weapons/armor
and make it in the store without overwrighting the main one?

i mean like i

1.Unpacked Model.mrs

2.Click on model folder then went to weapon and went to katana

3.i choses katana_skel.TGA.dds then i edited it

4.i open photoshop and edit the colors and then saved it has a (anyname).bmp.dds

5.I drag and droped the bmp into katana folder and i coppyed the katana_skel.elu
and renamed it to (anyname).elu

6.now i backed out of all that and went to weapon.xml i added the weapon and change names and all that to w/e i wanted then saved it.

7.then i made the model folder back into a model.mrs then drag and drop it into my gunz folder

8.start up gunz and went to the store.
[BTW i added the stuff i also needed.. in zitems/shop]

9.i clicked on it and it looked the same as the normal katana_skel.TGA.dds

and then i played around with the elu and change things then it didnt work...it didnt show
nothing

so my question is how do i make the .elu work for my custom stuff? cuz i think its

the...elu idk if someone had this problem and know how to do it know plz help me thanx.:juggle:

open the elu file up with notepad or hex editor and rename the names inside, that as far as i know how to make, no one will tell us or make a tut on it for some odd reason

Save the as an dds file dont rename it to dds.

so i dont use..... .bmp.dds or .TGA.dds??? sorry confused a full tut lolz would help if no one is lazy :p

do you have the .dds plugin?, if not google it(it very ezy to find)

or use DDS converter if you're too lazy to go to demonoid and search for photoshop CS3

i have the hacked version of photoshop and yes i have a converter but ................i still dont see how i can chose a item or weapon and edit the colors or teh looks of it without overrighting it and making it be in store with the main one i edited and the main one didnt change and one i didnt did and its in the store....

The complet Tut on how to edit an weapons image.

In this tut the file is katana01
1> Open the bmp.dds file with photoshop. and edit it.
2> Then save the file as an dds file that is option at the save as menu. Example katana99.bmp.dds
3> open the elu file with an hex editor.
4> search for katana01.bmp and change it to katana99.bmp
5> then save the elu file as katana99.elu
6> add the new elu file to you weapons.xml and zitem.xml
7> pack the model.mrs and system.mrs again [ dont forgot to update the filelist.xml first]
8> place the new zitem in your matchserver folder.
9> Done.
