im new i made my very first gunz server, with phoenix server files.
what is gunz source?
where can i get items for shop?..

hmm after i compile do i get a runnable?
i need to edit something in server files? after each compile?
i tried to compile but im gettign errors.... 2 errors

The Gunz source that is released by Dawson is made in C++ 2003 compilers program. I can't help you here since my source files is made in Visual Studio 2010 C++ (thanks for an awesome friend).
You would need to look at the build logs to see what caused the two compiling errors.

About adding items, you will need to edit the .xml files within the client and server files, not the source.
Such as;
- weapon.xml for declaring the mesh files for the weapons and clothing,
- zitem.xml to add the items officially in with status with the item's ID,
- shop.xml to make it appear into your shop listing
- worlditem.xml for the healing or handheld items like the HP or AP meds, magazine, etc... to do a specific thing within the game.

Adding maps isn't that hard, it is almost similar to adding items and clothing. You will have to edit maps.xml and ChannelRule.xml to have maps added, but it all depends on the source if you want it to read all the maps that is in the "Maps" folder of your client or you can have it where it reads both the .xml files to appear in the map list.

There are many old tutorials and thread on RaGEZONE that can really help you out.
