    I need some advice

Well apparently my community grows bigger from time to time.

My highest recorded online is 45.

Whenever I am at my peak hours, there are some periods that the game lags, like some people reach ping up to 5000.

    Here are my server specs:

    Processor: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5645 @ 2.40GHz 2.55GHz
    RAM: 1.00 GB
    Connection Speed: 100 MBPS

I want to upgrade my server, at the specs given above.. I need an advice on which item I need to upgrade.

Hoping for a favorable reply, thanks!!

Higher RAM should help decrease the lag, I believe. But I believe, I'm wrong.

Off-topic: I'm working on your minigun that you request, I think that is you. Lol.

Ram should also go up a bit...

Alltough it's probably all just distance lag or something because this should be enough for arround 100 people so..

^ Really? 30 players are max for 1 gb vps lol. 1 gb vps can't carry alot of stuff and shiz. I'd say go for 3 gb/2gb.

I've had 60 players on a 1GB ram VPS hosted in the US.

Lol you don't need much RAM to be able to run a decent server. I've ran stable servers on just 256 MB of RAM with no lag. From personal experience it's your Processor and Mother-Board that counts. Good Processor + Decent Motherboard and at least 1 GB of RAM you can EASILY handle 100+ members, easily.

You don't know what you are talking about, XEON are made for servers. The issue is the internet speed/location.

Same difference, either upgrade or use a better VPS.

    Re: I need some advice

    Here is what happens.

When the peak hours came, the server gets laggy. In the TDM, you need to wait more seconds for the next round to start, in the Duel Match you need additional seconds for you to respawn.

K, I'll consider the RAM Upgrade, still doubts on the processor upgrade though. :P

RAM!!! If you can go higher than (oldish 2gb max) DO IT! Get windows 64 bit to max out your ram.

Then your connection speed/internet dl/upload speed, you don't really need a new processor but you can always upgrade (processor would be the most expensive)

Wrong. You don't know what you're talking about. That would be called Distance Lag and it wouldn't cause players to have 5,000+ PING.

Totally distance lag, possible that you're farther away from the VPS and other players.

Well, the pings are smooth when I only have 20 people online, but for 45, the ping spikes.. Planning to add RAM later on.

Distance lag causes minor lag because packets are lost in the transfer because of how far away it is. This causes ping spike from 100-300, not 5000.
