Is anyone able to unpack this?

The new Korean Gunz patches (653 and 654) are out but for some reason, I'm not able to unpack the Update14.mrs completely. It unpacks the "interface" and "system" folder inside it and then gives an error which says "mrs.exe has stopped working...".

I tried several decompilers like XZeenon's, Steven's and also Phail's mrs unpacking tool. It still did no good.

Did you by any chance take a look at the MRS in a Hex Editor?
I just did, for no real reason, but theres something "suspicius" id say :)

@HellSniper: MEF files are stored, not deflated. Nothing new there.


The problem is that after the itemicons in the interface folder have been extracted there is an entry "interface", which is treated as a file - and conflicts with the interface folder.

The file record for "maps" which is 0 bytes long.

A quick fix can be not extracting files which are 0-bytes long.

Alright. As I don't have my own MRS decompiler, we can do it like this:

1. Download QuickBMS
2. Download the attachment (it's a text format, so you have the source if you want to look over it)
3. Run QuickBMS and it will ask for 3 things: the BMS script (use the attached script), the input file and the destination folder

More info on QuickBMS: Luigi Auriemma

It basically runs the script at runtime on the input file, so that's pretty neat.

The script just does a "if size equals zero, skip it". I can't remember who wrote the original version..

For those interested, it looks like RaiderZ has some new file formats - they're not using the MRS format anymore!

no error msg just keeps saying 0 files found.. what no more mrs..

meh it wont rlly matter since we arnt using the 2011 or 2010 files. no1 would release them till like 2015 anyways
