This thread is useful for gamers and hosters / networks
As you may notice we are running our servers on 64-bit system windows vista.
I noticed that all programs that were made for 32-bit did crash eventually for being run for too long
Well, after that i went into system settings that can be found here
Right click > my computer > properties > system settings -> cpu settings(performance) ->
Or
Control panel > system > system's properties > cpu settings(performance) ->
Turn off all the Visual / shadow effects that vista uses so that it looks like a standard windows 98, but it also stops all the unnecessary crashes on every program that doesn't support vista 100%.

Internet:
Also if you want to get full speed out of your internet (may use your bandwidth normally faster and reboot modem)
Go to your connection settings and then to TCP/IP settings and properties there.
Automatic metric-value: 1
And turn all the DNS check boxes off except the first one.
And save / apply.
It gives u faster download/browser speed. but as i said, if u torrent something u should turn it off, because it eats lots of BW and your modem reboots because lack of it.

Computer:
Also for computing speed.
Open the running program list
Ctrl + Alt + Del
And get the full list of all running programs they should read "show all programs that users are running" or something.
Press the button, check for clients such as svchost.exe
There usually are running more then 1 of them, 8-12... which 2-3 might be viruses or else over-trafficked and eats your memory / cpu speed lots.
Usually you find this if you check memory usage as over 60000-120000
In that case remove the one what eats the most memory if there's 2 terminate both.
Using terminate process-tree and it says that its System file, but its not, its the most common error /virus that uses system name as to hide itself.
After that you should see that your cpu usage goes to normal 1-10% that was before 40-80%
Firewall:
also if you are running more then one firewall within windows defender / firewall. you should turn the windows firewall off.
it causes also problems in svchost.exe and becomes bigger lag/freeze for computer when window start to make updating process.
stick with one firewall you are fine.
a bonus:
go to running program list again, cntrl + alt + del
and terminate explore.exe it will remove all the stuff in pc-desk such as toolbar in bottom and else.
and then choose program u need to use with alt + tab and there you go, if you want to put explore.exe back to work go again in running program list and type in run process "explore.exe" and it recovers it.
this also speed up your computer and closes all the running stuff background that uses your memory/cpu
Annoying Windows Crash Error Messages Disabling (windows XP/2003):
- Go to Control Panel.
- Click System.
- Go to the Advanced tab.
- Click Error Reporting.
- Click the "Disable Error Reporting" radio box, but select the "But notify me when Critical Errors Occur".
a last:
Run Virus Scanner that you got and delete all possible viruses.
after this you go and download this:
Adaware Cleans your computer from all the trash cookies
CCleaner cleanes your registrys/history/else crap thats shitload in your computer
both of them are freewares but very good.
