Setting up a gunz server in a vmware
// fixed, it was my old D-link router or my firewall that was in the way, thread may be closed now.
Hey guys, I've been messing up with Gunz lately (I have some free time), trying to set up a server in a virtual machine through vmware, cause I don't feel like installing SQL and all the stuff on my computer, it would slow down everything and eat up my RAM.
But so far I've only been able to connect to the server from within the virtual machine, using localhost in ServerStatus and system.xml. I have the WAN ip everywhere in my configs, and all ports are forwarded to my computer's Ip address.
I've tried all networking modes in vmware, and the only one which actually works (using the others I simply wouldn't have the internet) is NAT, which is said to share my computer's IP address. However, typing ipconfig in the vmware will give me a totally different local address then the one my computer actually has. Computer would be 192.168.0.101 and the vm 192.168.186.128.
Help anyone?
