RM Crashes after loading...

Ok I have my server up but as soon as I execute rm.exe to load the game it loads and right before the loading is done it crashes back to desktop. Does anyone know why this could be happening? I have deleted and reinstalled the game 3 times now and still have the same problem.

It could be memory problems. Unless you have massive amounts of RAM (over 1GB) then Redmoon will close due to having too many maps open since they each consume about 2-4 megs of RAM per map.

I'd suggest you close down unused maps, then try again.

I have 768 ram and I just tried to load with only 5 maps loaded and still it goes to the rm loading screen shows the hole heartbeat thingie loading and get to the end really fast and crashes to desktop.

Uninstall, delete the leftover Redmoon folder, reboot, install again. Should take care of your problem. :)

768MB of RAM will run you about 60-80 maps with Redmoon in the background...really depends on your machine.

I do believe there were updates ... for the server and for the client when using the 3.9 client on the 3.8 server files .. it sounds like the same issue I had ... I updated the client but not the server files when I first tried it ... I remember having to unsure the 700 skill update patch we re-installed in the exact locations and then things started working again.

if it crashes, all u have to do is restart and unload some of the programs u will not be using... it uses the system resources... remove sumthing like AIM/pop up blocker/MSN/Kazaa/etc... if that doesnt help... theeeeeeeeen..... umm... i dunno, but that helps for me

Hi!!.. anyone plz help me i have some question to ask how i know i run server is complete
becasuse when i run server step is ---->svMapCenter.exe----> RMServerMgr.exe------>redmoon_as.exe but i don't know is done because it not has message to show i has picture to show u plz tell me what wrong ?
so when i run client
why i can't connect my server because when i click connect button my computer has show dial up box
if anyone to know how to fixed this ploblem plz .... Thx for help

in that order ... if your rmserver.ini file has all ip's pointed to your local system .. then you should be able to pick and choose which maps you want to load ...
start with 68 beginner's zone .. since when you create new characters thats where they end up first anyway ...
It's been said .. 2-5mb for most maps to load .. that's outside of the resources your pc will need and sql to run by themselves ...

I can load all maps with 756mb of ddr ... major spawn .. with about 4-6 players on it on a local area network and suffer no lag ...

If you're stuck with less memory ... just load only the maps you'll plan on using at first and be selective later ...

I fixed the prob...quicksilver...all it was is that I needed to reboot and for why I don't know...but now is there a way to get the 700 skillz...and uh Aguilas is an awesome char to be :D haha he has all skills it's great. And his 2 animations that he has is pretty awesome too. (To be him just change the "face" in tblGameID or w/e to 9 or 10 i forgot...it will show ur char as whatever character to have it set to but when you load the char it will be an npc.
