    2.0.10 TBC LAN Problem with Realm Connect

    Hi Ive been going at this for days trying to work out whats wrong and have trolled the heck out of the threads here searching for an answer but to no avail.

    This is the MaNGOS v2.0.10 Server [COMPLETE] 297MB Download

    Im running 2.0.10 TBC on a seperate PC running server 2003 the firewall is not running and I run my Lineage 2 LAN Server from it no problems at all, however with the 2.0.10 TBC Server I can get past login no problems but when I try to connect to my Realm I get thrown back to char select with the Select Realmlist Window open. Running MYSQL 5.0 and MySQL Tools for 5.0 odbc and JRE SDK.

    My WoW Client is 2.0.8 have also tried 2.0.10 and 2.0.12 versions and get the same result. I have tried a clean install of WoW and TBC and patched to 2.08 currently with the other versions on a seperate PC.

    My realmlist.wtf says;

    set realmlist 192.168.0.11

    My config is as follows;

    Server IP is 192.168.0.11

    Host file says

    127.0.0.1 192.168.0.11

    Realmd_BC/Realmlist is as follows:

    ID= 1 name= ServerName address= 192.168.0.11 port= 8085 icon=1 color= 0 timezone= 0 dbinfo= 127.0.0.1;3306;login;pass;realmd_bc

    mangosd.conf

    DataDir = "c:/Mangos/data" (containing maps and DBC)

    LoginDatabaseInfo = "127.0.0.1;3306;login;pass;realmd_bc"
    WorldDatabaseInfo = "127.0.0.1;3306;login;pass;mangos_bc"

    realmd.conf

    "127.0.0.1;3306;login;pass;realmd_bc (placed correctly or I couldnt get past login)

    Server log and realmd log both show nothing to hint at what any error could be.

    Does the Microsft loopback adapter need to be installed for this? If so it was not in the setup guide at all.

    If anyone is able to help it would be really appreciated.

    thanks in advance.

    I get this error when the world server has crashed. Does this happen often or have you even been able to log in and play ever?

    Host file says
    127.0.0.1 192.168.0.11
    ??
    Wtf...Host file is to bind IP numbers to DNS-names... where is your DNS entry?

    Why nobody reads the 17 lines explanation on top of HOSTS file??
    If you had done that, you'de know that it don't work like that...

    # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
    # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
    # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
    # space.
    #
    # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual

    # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

    127.0.0.1 localhost
    Now it's not the first time I see this, and normaly I don't respond anymore
    (and why should I?; I wrote many times about it, but nobody seems to care to read it... so be it :-/)

    So,...as usual, R.T.F.M !!!

    I still don't understand why the hosts file is even part of the guides anymore. It really wasn't even necessary when WoWemu was used. None of my servers have ever had a problem without it.

    That depends a bit on whether you are connected directly to internet, or hide behind a (NAT) router.

    Personally I don't use it either, as I have my own DNS server running on LAN :P

    And that I won't even try to explain; since people allready have problems with their hosts file
    (and most of them don't have a clue why they are adding something to it, imagine what problems it will be when they try to set up a DNS server :))

    lol. I figured it had something to do with a router, but honestly, it has to effect only a small percentage of users.

    It already has the DNS just like that Im not stupid I just simplified the post.
    As I said I have another Emulator also running I just cut the crap out and put in the relevant info in the post. The Host file is fine however just for arguments sake here is the complete host file.

    His point is your last line is wrong. Now is that causing your problem, probably not, but you might want to look and see if by turning off the lineage server, will your WoW server work?

    Re: 2.0.10 TBC LAN Problem with Realm Connect

    The Lineage 2 server isnt running when I connect. I can get past login but cannot connect to the realm.
    if the host file was wrong i would not even get to login.
    this is the only EMU Ive had trouble with as on another PC I have the Eve Online Emu, SWG Emu and EQEMu Setup alongside L2 and they all connect just fine.
    Ive had previous versions of Mangos running before also.
    Also Ive tried swapping the entries around from 127.0.0.1 192.168.0.0.11 to 192.168.0.11 127.0.0.1 with the same result. Also tried it as a WAN. The router isnt the issue the ports are open for Mangos plus VPN, Remote Host Blizzard Downloader etc.

    when your hosting a wowserver on YOUR comp, the realmlist should always say 127.0.0.1

    If you mean the realmlist.wtf that is only if the client is on the same PC as the server. In this case the client is on a different pc hence why the realmlist.wtf points to that pc's IP.

    Re: 2.0.10 TBC LAN Problem with Realm Connect

    Look. This is from your hosts file... Do you not see the confusion your PC is having???

    127.0.0.1 localhost
    192.168.0.11 L2authd.lineage2.com
    127.0.0.1 192.168.0.11

    192.168.0.11 isn't supposed to be there... you are redefining. There isn't a need to do it. The Host file is damn near useless.

    Like I said, I am not totally sure this is your problem. If you are having problems to this degree (Which mind you, you're in a small percentage that can't be helped) I'd suggest you either try a different server, or take some of the advice that has been given to you. The guides are written fine TONS of people read through them and are able to run their servers. You have done something wrong. Wipe, go back and start it over.

    Re: 2.0.10 TBC LAN Problem with Realm Connect

    I got the same problem, I am sure I know what host file is. I changed 127.0.0.1 to the fixed ip address, like 192.168.0.x, I just got a message box after I typed in my username and password, it said that my account is ok for TBC, the computer doesn't contain BC dat, need install, etc. I have 2.0.8 WOW client installed correctly, registry is also correct. Can anybody tell me how can I solve the problem?

    Re: 2.0.10 TBC LAN Problem with Realm Connect

    In my opinion, it's the only way to properly configure any emulator, as it prevents all realmloop problem you might have.

    1. Collect info first. You will need to know your own IP and DNS.
      You can find this info on Traceroute, Ping, Domain Name Server (DNS) Lookup, WHOIS, and DNS Records Lookup. Offcoarse you can also register your IP at a free DNS provider like f.e. No-IP - Dynamic DNS, Static DNS for Your Dynamic IP. If you use your own, just replace the dns-name used in this example by your own dns-name.
      In this example I will use IP:123.0.0.123 and DNS:123_0_0_123.adsl.ispnet.com as external IP, and 10.0.0.10 as server's internal IP.

    2. On the server, open the file C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC\HOSTS with notepad, and add your DNS right below localhost like this:
      Code:
      127.0.0.1          localhost
      10.0.0.10          123_0_0_123.adsl.ispnet.com
      (note that you if you want to play from another machine on your local LAN, you will also have to add the same line to the HOST files on that machine.)
    3. Check your SQL tables:
      Code:
      ID= 1  name= ServerName  address= 123_0_0_123.adsl.ispnet.com port= 8085 icon=1 color= 0 timezone= 0 dbinfo= 127.0.0.1;3306;login;pass;mangos_bc
    4. Configure your conf files:
      mangosd.conf
      Code:
      DataDir = "c:/Mangos/data" (containing maps and DBC)

      LoginDatabaseInfo = "127.0.0.1;3306;login;pass;realmd_bc"
      WorldDatabaseInfo = "127.0.0.1;3306;login;pass;mangos_bc"
      realmd.conf:
      Code:
      "127.0.0.1;3306;login;pass;realmd_bc (placed correctly or I couldnt get past login)
      (note that config files only concern MySQL configuration, and do not contains realm data)
    5. On your router, forward ports 3724 and 8085
    6. Tell your clients to set realmlist 123_0_0_123.adsl.ispnet.com

    All done 8)

    Re: 2.0.10 TBC LAN Problem with Realm Connect

    Hmmm... you posted:

    Realmd_BC/Realmlist is as follows:

    ID= 1 name= ServerName address= 192.168.0.11 port= 8085 icon=1 color= 0 timezone= 0 dbinfo= 127.0.0.1;3306;login;pass;realmd_bc

    So, if "dbinfo" is the pointer that directs you to the correct database for the worldserver as your connection is handed from the realmd daemon to the mangosd daemon, shouldn't this read:

    ID= 1 name= ServerName address= 192.168.0.11 port= 8085 icon=1 color= 0 timezone= 0 dbinfo= 127.0.0.1;3306;login;pass;mangos_bc

    The default action for a failed connection is is to return to the realmed daemon...

    Re: 2.0.10 TBC LAN Problem with Realm Connect

    I'm a little new to this too, but I don't see the purpose of this line in your host file
    127.0.0.1 192.168.0.11

    127.0.0.1 is already defined as localhost
    And you define 192.168.0.11 for L2authd.lineage2.com
    Far as I would believe you should only need the first 2 lines
    127.0.0.1 localhost
    192.168.0.11 L2authd.lineage2.com

    You should then go into mangos and set the server ip to your server address
    If your server address is 192.168.0.11 than use that one
    like I show in this post here

    All realmlist.wtf on your LAN should then point to your server address
    set realmlist 192.168.0.11
    If you use a no-ip or other external address you would use that as your server address
    and forward the necessary ports from your router

    Hope that helps
