[Ascent] Can't create characters

I read the FAQ and did what it said. Updated the characters DB but when I create a character the character list does not show the new character (or any characters for that matter)

it was yelling about some guildid thing so I downloaded the SQL updates and ran all of those but everything I had was up to date... so what next?
