    [Ascent] Client never connects

    Hi..

    I'm running wow on ubuntu 8.04 (hardy) using wine and have compiled the ascent server.

    My client never seems to connect, all I get is the connecting message

    the server(s) are up and running fine, no sql errors or other indications in them, but the client never seems to connect...

    so, even though it all seems ok, it won't connect... the realmslist.wtf is set to the same dyndns address as listed above in the .conf file so I really don;t know what is going wrong...

    Suggestions? pointers?

    Quite well actually, the only real issue is whether or not what you want to run for games is supported. I've already gotten quite a few friends to "jump ship" so to speak... all it took was to be able to run wow...

    I would suggest that you wait to start until hardy is out of beta in april.

    lol, do not use ubuntu to run ascent servers.
    to many compile problems later on..
    get debian.

    also, make sure that you forwarded all the ports correctly..

    can you test it without any firewalls or routers? just to make sure that is not a routing problem
