[Ascent] Development help?

I've recently aquired the source code through SVN for Ascent and have managed to compile it and get it working fine. I recently tried to implement some Karazhan mobs, and in toying around with various things, I've noticed some small little broken bits here and there.

I started to sift through the code, but it's a little overwhelming and without spending a lot of time tracing through the code, I probably have little chance of stumbling across the code I'm looking for. So I'm asking, is there a separate place to go for development assistance? Looking around here, most issues seem to be with running and maintaining the server, rather than modifying it.

I have a lot of experience with C and C++ and many other languages so I'm not looking for a tutor, more just a shove in the right direction.

I'll give an example of the type of thing I'm wanting to look at. In testing my Karazhan instance, I made a tank char and I noticed that imp shield block did not give me two charges. So I went looking for references to shield block, took a look around to find how buffs are applied, and also had a look at how combat was calculated. None of these places seemed to lead to much relevant.

So my question is, is there a separate place I should be asking these questions? Or is this the place?

The RaGEZONE community is not based of coders, mostly people with questions rather than answers, so your best bet would to go to Ascent's forums and give that a try.
