[ASCENT] How to: migrate and old Character DB to the new (may be rev 2785+)

(text below applies *JUST* if u already have an old char db running on Ascent rev < 2785, or some close to it)

Hey guys hope its help some1 stucked w/ some strange startup errors in ascent in last rev's :

I run an personal and private Ascent WoW Server, to have some fun w/ my family and close friends. I Always got new branches of NCDB and Ascent revision, from the Stick'ed post here in WoW area and directly from svn and compile them by myself.

But, i just notice than alot of thing changed in characters DB from my old branch (some like rev24xx) to actual release in SVN (at this time, its 2785).

So i use just import the new sql file to character database (available from svn) in a new database and compare w/ my old install, using the Enterprise version of SQLyog.

Follow attached:
- my old character database, so you can compare w/ you version;
- the most updated character database sql (character + logon sql);
- the sync file generated by SQLyog (its Refers to old char db as 'characters_old', and if you whanna thy it, may be u need to change it
in true, i made it as it is, to AVOID accidental issues ) :footinmou

Also, i recommend u give a try at SQL Enterprise Trial to always check if some structure of character database as changed when u dl new rev and try the upgrade.

As ascent is not in a stable version (ie, no new branches since 2409) we can face this kind of problem any time, so, dun start to blame the ascent ppl, as they do the best to keep it the best FREE LEGIT WoW server available :sweatdrop

AND NOTICE THE SYNC SQL ATTACHED DELETE SOME TABLES, SO, TAKE A TIME TO BACKUP YOUR DATABASE!! :jc:

PS: follow the world sql too, if u wish to do the same thing w/ your world db ;)
