[Ascent] Internal IP?! I have none!

When I boot up ascent.exe and loginserver.exe I can log in and connect fine, but when I chose my realm I get stuck on "Logging into game server" and it eventually goes back to the realm menu.

I've searched around and believe that my internal IP (stated in realm.conf) is incorrect. The thing is: I don't think I have one! I don't use a router and when I tried to do ipconfig I couldn't find it!

Basically three questions.

1. Do you still have an internal IP even without a router?
2. If so, how do you find it? Do NOT tell me to do an ipconfig, I've already tried.
3. Is an incorrect IP in realm.conf causing the issue in the first place?

You always have "127.0.0.1" or "localhost" as the computers self IP. If you have a dsl or cable modem then you also have the IP the modem assigns you.

Try

ipconfig /all

Go there and just use your external one if you don't think you have an internal one, OR use a dns address.

I have the same problem that you have with the Client always going back to Realm List, but Mangos works fine with the same IP in realmlist.wtf

ok In realmlist.conf make it your external ip, and in ascent.conf use either localhost or 127.0.0.1 this will automatically ue your interal IP. Hope that helps.

I have tried EVERY SINGLE IP that comes up when I do an ipconfig /all. Nothing works.

if you are setting up a server for your own personal use, and not wanting anyone to access it then make your ip addresses in your ascent.conf, logonserver.conf either localhost or 127.0.0.1 you will then be able to get into your server.

also make sure that you have ascent.exe and logonserver.exe not running when you make these changes because those changes will not come into affect until you restart the logonserver.exe and ascent.exe

only other thing i can think of is to make sure that your logonserver remotepassword is the same in both ascent.conf and logonserver.conf
