Ascent looting issues
Ok, a new problem has come up for me, and up until now just searching forums has given me an answer, but this time I can't find any info on it.
Ascent core 2492, which has so far been stable and great, running NCDB 2.3 up to 700. My problem is my drops, in Hyjal (anywhere actually, shown up in ssc too) some bosses drop 4-5 good things, T6 tokens etc, and the next boss drops nothing but gold. Move on to the next, they drop one POS that no one actually rolls for. I've tried alot of different drop/drop gold numbers in my ascent config, but they always end up this way.
Gold drop rates go up and down like I imagine they should, but the item drop rates just suck! Did I miss something in the SQL files someplace that fixes this or is the core's math just off?
I was hoping for getting a nice ratio so everyone gets a decent amount of gold after being spread around, and one token of each T6 (or 5 or whatever) drops so every class gets a chance per boss, and decent weapons (one of each I would hope). Just so its worth everyone's time and effort to get a fair shot at getting what they wanted. Downing a boss after an hour and seeing nothing drop but gold is a great way for me to lose my players.
Any ideas?
No, I'm not editing the drop percentages for every item for every boss in every instance lol. I've tried 1/1 all the way to 2000/1 and 1/2000 etc (btw gold at 2000 doesn't drop gold at all) and everything in between. I've played on a private server that pretty much did just what I was hoping to do as well, but it ran on Mangos, so I don't know if that core has a different way of setting up drop rates or not. Maybe like an actual amount of items per boss to drop or something (so they always drop 7 items or something).
Also, on occasion I'll use SQYLog to add in the sql files a new ascent core comes with, and it errors out, and I usually end up having to restore my database. I do restore from SQL dump on whatever it goes into, character or world. Navicat errors as well doing import>text file pointed at the SQL file. Some do, some don't. Actually, most do. I'm wondering if this is part of the problem, if it is, is there a particular update that I need to get in to help with the looting issues?
