I got an error in ascent saying can not create TCP/IP socket <10050> sql: Main Database initilization failed. Exiting. Any ideas? logon server works fine.

Well restarting fixed this problem. I have no idea what happened but if anyone else has this same problem, try just rebooting as I did nothing else but reboot.

EDIT: ascent closes when it finishes loading, i dont know why, but it gives me an error, and closes down
i mean, the server comes up, but ascent.exe messes up and closes

btw, i'm using Windows Vista Ultimate

I have ascent and logon working fine now it seems. However, my characters when creating show up in the character selection screen as not having start up items. Also, game doesn't finish loading the character. I'm assuming this would need a similar SQL update to fix what caused these problems before, but I ran the older sql ones and it didn't fix my problem. Also, Ascent does show my character as logging in.


Ascent says table world.banned_names doesn't exist. So not sure why that didn't come over going to see what I missed.
I have looked and I don't see any banned_names sql file.

For latest sql update files visit the Ascent SVN or latest NCDB trunk at their SVN...
However ill compile it once again today and ill upload it with the latest sql updates.

No, you wont.
Blizzard changed the packets with patch 2.3.0.
So for now its not compitable with 2.2.3 or prior versions.

Dahh. It just finished connecting to logonserver.exe then crashes randomly, doesnt even create crashdump :S o well. wait for another release :)
