[Ascent] Server Crash

Each time I try to run Ascent.exe I get an error saying this:

Server has crashed. Reason was:

an Access Violation at 0x7C35528C

     Running as: Admin on Windows 2000 (I set it to compitable, I use Vista)

I use Ascent Version 1763
TNPS DB Rev. 8
Windows Vista Home Premium

I already set my firewalls to allow ascent.exe, I'm running it as Administrator and in varius compatible modes but it doesn't work yet. Does anyone have a solution or a different Ascent Rev which will work? Thanks already.
