Buying a Dedicated

Well, I'm new here, I plan to be active because after reading these theards/forums, seems like a great community. Anway:

I'm a GM on a server, and the Admin wants to buy a Dedicated, but the prices, wow! Let's say 250-500 Player cap dedicated server, how much would that cost?
Also, we get few donaters, are there any ways/donor gear to get people wanting to donate for a dedicated?

umm, well dedicated servers do not go buy player cap. and servers you buy will not have mangos or ascent setup you would have to edit it yourself, basicly what a dedicated server is, is a computer that runs 24/7 and is like a super computer, best bets are around 150$ a month for a very nice 1000 player cap, umm 500 would be duel duo core proccesor and around 12gb ram, and 1000mb connection, around 70-90 a month,maybe more or less, a site of recommendation is hostgator.com its 174 a month but very nice deals.

I know what a dedi is, I was just wondering what everyone else uses, like host, pricing, etc.

not to sure, i get my dedicated for free, i work for a multi billion dollar template company im a web designer and theyjust give me free ones, but all my are rented out or id give u one sry

DEDICATED SERVERS ARE OVER SPECED YOU DON'T NEED 12 GIGS OR RAM FOR IT lol

and yes there is way to get donator items that donate.
