Connecting remotely

Hey guys, Ok how do others connect to my server wen i am running it behind a Router? Do i have to change my IP to my WAN ip or my LAN ip?

Others can connect when i use my ADSL modem without the router but as soon as i bring the router into the equasion nothing seems to work wen my ip is set to WAN.

Please help :)

WAN IP and config the router to forward required ports (dont even think of asking for them - search)
