connection problem - with WAN IP

Hi i am noob to the database thing and i installed mangos succesfully (even for version 1.12.2) and in fact i managed to play with the administrator account. But I can only do that when I set the realm's adress to my local ip. Friends cannot connect at that time. When I set the ip to my real wan ip - i cannot connect either. I forwarded the necessary ports i assume - 3036 - 8085 - 3724. I am running an adsl router modem which is broadcasting a lan for 2 machines.

Another issue is: When I try to connect to the game with an account other than the admin, I cannot get past the realm selection screen. I choose, it always comes back. Only admin could create a character and play.

Can you help me with the issues? thanks in advance and cheers.
