I have the same general error as snadboy... with the exception of not fiding file rather than no error.

I have changed all 4 instances of my IP in the conf files and the two instances in the DB is there something im missing?

nevermind i found the MP tutorial and that showed me how to get thru my internal network and to te internet

Do I need to run any DNS programs while I'm running the server to set up the realm list or my ip adress is work fine?

Basically i fixed the problem by using my local network IP for all .conf files and in the worldlist section of the database and only used my internet IP on the realmlist part of the database.
The problem was the server would try to connect to my internet address which was my router so couldnt find its self!

okay, i extracted the maps as the guide said, ran the kobold starter but once i clicked open world. it came up with this -
