a few things after playing a bit...

me and a few friends made lvl 60's as casters we dont seem to do anywhere near the correct dmg at this level 600 Dmg highs on even low lvl stuff????

any Ideas?

got another problem here^^
i tried to upgrade this easy pack with kennys newest files.
All works fine, but only the new sql, that had to be imported, makes problems :(

i tried to upload the sql with phpMyAdmin but theres a max file limit with 2MB.

So i tried to upload it directly via mysql command line:

As there are quite many fixes that has come now that updates were made, and I see someone having problems with their repack after trying to update, and as it IS a EASY repack, then im going to upload a new repack soon.. With all the updates in 1 file once more.. Im just going to wait a little if more updates will come in the next few days..

The spelldamage/healing is the major bug being worked out atm. Just be patient.
As for platemail........um, weapon trainer. Cus it works fine for me. Not sure maybe you were checking the class trainer.
To make someone's account a GM edit their account in MySQL there's a GM section you can change. As for spawning mobs it's .npc add #.
Do consider reading all the guides.

check out the dbc folder it has to be in ws folder also the db for the ips i had this problem but it was nothing so i didn't care about it to much

Problem:

I've noticed that creatures spawn fine when I start the server up, but if I kill them, two things happen: They take quite a while to respawn, and they come back as like, phantoms.. they're basically untouchable, and they don't fight back for some reason. Melee attacks are evaded 100%, and magic spells either miss, don't effect or do 1 damage. So far I've only figured out that this happens in the elwynn forest (around northshire), but it could be / probably is happening everywhere else.

How do I fix it? X.x If I restart the server, all is well again.. but I can't very well let this issue go on x.x

Hello all fans of this repack!

I have decided to go ingame into the real official WoW world again to try and make some things to this repack that would maybe make it more blizzlike (if its possible to do that :P) .. As that is true, and as I will activate my account in a few mins I will need someone to test the repack for me now and then .. (I dont have enough HD space to have 2 WoW installations... Though I have 160gb ... I know I know.. CLEAN UP .... Cant.. :P)

Well, if anyone of you are interrested, give me a pm... I will send the repack fixes to you before I will let it go to this thread..

- NB. The next release will be a full pack release! Meaning I will release a whole new fully packed file, where all the fixes will be in! This means that when you install it, youll have to backup your DB with the tool in /tools before you install the new pack if you want all your accounts, chars etc transfered.. :)
I will release this as soon as Kenny gets his new repack "bug fixes" download link fixed :P

I'm very excited and looking forward to your updated repack, Drakelord. If you can figure it out, I'd love it if you could get the friendly NPCs to say what they do on the Blizz servers - instead of a simple "greetings", it'd be great if they were unique in their greetings as they are on the official servers. Same thing with the quest text - on Blizz's server, most quests have 3 different little pages of info (when first getting the quest, when about to turn it in, and after you click "continue" and get the quest-finishing blurb) that I miss dearly. There are also several little bugs, like books that are involved with quests are unreadable (no text within) plus doodads (like Milly's harvest) are not clickable either.

There is also that little battle bug where you are sometimes told you are not facing the enemy even though you are - a little out-of-sync, but it's nothing major. What I miss most so far is the dialogue and text, though. I'd love it if you fixed that. <3

Drakelord i've noticed 2 bugs that they have to be fixed. Mark of the wild druid talent doesnt give the percentage of the improvment it was supposed to give. Also alchemy profession doesnt level you up when you make a potion. Do you know or can learn in which files these scripts are being manipulated at? If you can then i might try to fix the script if its in python but i tried and i didnt find anything usefull though.

Do you have a "Known-Bug-List" for us and are you intrested in getting replys involving bugs or things that do not work like the original? If yes do you want to make another thread?

As i played WOW for about 6 month i recgognized several things that are not working or beeing as intended.

EDIT: I can now tell you that im currently uploading version 3.0 of the pack! To all you who has the old pack and still wants your accounts and chars etc, please use the backup tool in tools folder.. You should do this before installing the new pack. I will give out a guide on release on which DBs to remove before importing the backup..

Yay, the guides work again... too bad I already know pretty much everything I ever needed to know now, lmao.. well, congrats on a job well done and such..

One thing I would like to see though: A server launcher that runs all the cmd windows in one window, or even better, minimized to the tray.

A fine update, but it's a still disappointing to see the NPCs lacking their usual text blurbs, and the quests are still a bit buggy.

Is there any way to manually edit the databases and add in the missing texts? I'm willing to do it on my own, since this is really the only thing preventing me from opening my server for good.

You sai you don't use navicat? Just a web interface? Since regular HTML doesn't have the capability of sql connection you will probably use PHP pages. If you do notice that PHP limits the transfers at 2MB that means that it times out the query execution. download navicat. it works fine.

hi, sry 2 bother but i am just trying your repack and i have a couple questionz.

where do i change the reamlist at, how i edit dropz/gold and XP ratez

and everytime i run the server it runs fine, i changed my reamlist to 127.0.0.1 and i am running verison 1.12.1 but when i try to connect it sayz "disconnected from server" as if it was full or something

i opened all portz 2, but i shouldnt have this problem on lan

lol, last thing :P. i downloaded Navicat but i have no idea how 2 use it with the server. any and all help would be great :), ty.

I am using this pack and everyone just dies at random, any Ideas. Also Hunters cant tame, the target dies instead of becoming pet

The pack is great and we love it. Its working perfectly fine, excellent guide and fast feedback. Nice job.
But if anybody knoe wer i can find item creator for kobold or custom sprite/displayid for weapon etc in WOW, it would be much more appreciated.

Well, it worked with the previous release. I just use the start.exe included in the pack and make adjustments with the html website that opens thereafter (Welcome to phpMyAdmin 2.7.0)

I used an item that was on a character but not in the item database. That made the server restart.
Nevertheless i still dont see the use of navicat as i still have to start "start.bat"

But anyone know how AI mob works in this emu ? I have started some UD characters and creature's behaviour is definitively lacking in some area. It's far from Blizz-like (mob don't run away when low life, AI caster is horrible etc) I have find a way to add some spells for a particular mob via Navicat, but how can i attribute a specific AI ? I mean without coding some python script, (i'm not a programmer :() is this possible ?

- The thing about setting realmlist to 1 is very normal!
@ WarWrath, use Navicat and open the Database (user: root, pass: root) and double click the "Realm_list" in Kobold database and edit the line "Status" to "1" instead of 3 or 0 ..

Remember to change your IP to 127.0.0.1 in both Realm_list and worldserver_list in the SQL database using Navicat! (user: root, pass: root)... If its for singleplayer.. Else.. Try this one: http://forum.ragezone.com/world-warc...ed-182574.html
If you want to change Xp rates, you seek the file : "kobold/WS/scripts/config.py".. Be sure to run Clean.bat when you have changed it, before running the server again..

Be sure to download the fix in the main post!! It fixes a critical error! If you haven't already downloaded it, you'll have problems!

Hope this helps a lot of you guys... I am sorry this might be a bit bugged.. Thats why I need testers to test before I send this out.. I currently have 2, so you might not see many bugs in future releases :) Hopefully not :)

I've discovered a slight error in the functions.py script for XP calculation. Left as-is, I was unable to get XP for mobs that were of a lower level than my character due to the structure of the script. To fix it, simply move the script code that handles this calculation after all variables that it uses have been defined as shown:

It's just a general bug that I found in the repack. Fixing it takes all of about 5 seconds using conTEXT. Just wanted to post my findings in case anyone else was having the same problem.

I'd rather you check this out yourself and confirm before deciding what you want to do. ;)

Yes you can change the XP rate, the formulas are right there. So are the breakpoints for the level difference used to determine whether or not you get XP at all (variable g) & etc.

1) Server status on web page always off, while all things work well.
2) What is the translateter folder for? there is any use of it and how to?

Ok Its not random I can sit and watch hitpoints degrade till they die. I tryed reinstalling still have the issues. Pets after tame shows as your pet but is dead cant be revived or healed. Now I do have 1 warlock running around and wondering if his Drain Life (or some spell of the sort) spell could be Draining everyones life?

Same problem with all tigers in Winterspring and all cats (panters and tigers) in strangelthorn here! Tameable are for example Chillwind Dragons in Winterspring.

I found the error as i wrote in the last post i made:
I used an item that was on a character but not in the item database. That made the server restart. I just erased the item from the inventory and everything works good now!

I have the same problem as WarWrath had earlier, and i changed the status to '1' instead of '3' but when i press the Kobold server in the Realm Selection list it just returns me. (I'm trying to set it up within a LAN, if that matters). Great repack btw.

edit: It may have something to do with the fact that theWS_Server_Alive says that it "can't find WS[*my ip number*] in DB", any ideas?

Server runs great when using 127.0.0.1 , when i change address in the WS, LS, RS config. to my ip address the server restarts on login. this is what im seeing.

DB problem.. Be sure you haven't changed anything in the .sql or .conf files... Go to DB with Navicat and set Realm_list and worldserver_list to 127.0.0.1 under "IP"

i have read the entire topic for a fix to the "error code[9]" problem!
as far as i can undstand - no one got a fix for it - and it occurs on European versions of the game running version 1.12.2???
Anyone know what the code [9] is??

me and a few friends had this we are all on the EU verson, and all we did to downgrade to 1.12.1 to aviod the code 9 was to copy the wow.exe posted on this forum to our wow dir and it worked straight away.

I have a few bugs to report:
1. +Spell damage Still doesn't work.
2. Warlock training doesn't work. (You don't learn highest rank of Corruption, CoA, CoS, CoE, Shadow Bolt and some others.
3. Warlocks pets doesn't work. Imp only uses Blood pact on it self. Not the master.
4. Reputation seems to be not working too. In addition to that you Can't talk to any of the Zandalar people.
5. You can't seem to enter AQ20+AQ40.
That was all I have yet discovered.
Others than that. I must say.. Genious work. Good server indeed. I am only reporting the bugs to help you know what to work on. Nothing is perfect (Yet).

Hi all! jsut wanted to say that after trying a few other emus this one works the best.

one problem I have and can't seem to figure out is..

game connects, finds realm, and plays fine on the system the emu is runnin on, but the othere systems on the lan can only connect (authorize), but show the realm as offline.

any ideas what I'm doin wrong?


ps. are you goin to add the new items from Naxx into this EMU soon? none of the weapons or gear (other then the base 8 of the t3, and not the set ring) seem to be in the db. :)

I notice that on a number of quests there are certain items missing when using Kobold as well as a few DB errors on occasion that crop up in the server window and I have heard read several comments about the Kobold DB on various threads here and it has me a little confused.

I was wondering if anyone could take the time to Answer the following.


1: Whats the Difference between the dbc.rar found on /elements in the "Kobold Sql files + Tools" Sticky, and the Data Base that comes with this package?

2: Is the Mangos DB "Superior" as some people have claimed, and if so is it possible to use it with this Package?

Also, Would it be possible to get a more detailed change log when this package is updated?

Dates would greatly be appreciated, so that when you edit the Post there is no confusion as to if you have edited or updated the files.


This is an extremely wonderful, easy to use and easy to set up utility, thank you ever so much for your time in making this a very user friendly package.

Drakelord thanks once again for that you've done providing us the kobold server...well i have one question...In ragezone forums Ihavenoclue user give us Items.rar which actually is item database updated with naxx items.i am using your server,but how i can extract those items in Kobold sever?
I mean i am using navicat,i allready make a conection and i executed the bach file items...

Qatara, download the item.rar from ihavenoclue, save it to somewhere, extract it with winrar, open your Navicat, right click on your kobold db and select console. Now open your item.sql and copy and paste everything there to the console and then press enter, the console will run for a while and then it will finish. hope this help you.

Logging in is no problem now ...
But it seems like i cant use any admin account
i can login as a normal player but as soon as i change the playerlevel to 3 i cant login with the account anymore

i was using Vista RC2 to try use kobold and just got that error message, luckly for me i had a spare 2600+ XP-m Athlon 1gb ram pc (my old o/c rig) to set up a windows server 2003 to run kobold on :)

I also find some NPC lost .e.g the warrior trainer in storm wind. where are the npcs definded in serverlite .

@ amd64 - i cant remember where i read it but someone mentioned that you can learn dual weild from the weopons trainer rather than the class trainer

Basically i fixed the problem by using my local network IP for all .conf files and in the worldlist section of the database and only used my internet IP on the realmlist part of the database.
The problem was the server would try to connect to my internet address which was my router so couldnt find its self!
