Im VERY new to WoW Private servers.. So i would like to know
How do i join a WoW Private servers?
do i download files and put them somewhere :S
Please people i know im noob -.- But help !

U should go to www.xtremetop100.com then wow section find a server there and read the guide to conenct it's very easy just change a name in a file and ur rdy to go :)

To make a long story short.. well even larger (sorry to bad, gosh i need to make guides for it ^^)

There's an little file called realmlist.wtf (don't now why wtf, but most people knows it like WhatTheFuck file, or at least i do)
In this file there is just a little information written. Just where World of Warcraft (i ment the game, not the "company" which's actually Blizzard) can read where he can find the Realmlist (list for all the realms available on that server) and the patchlist (if WoW has an update he can "check it").
If you want to pay free. (that would be yes other wise you didn't ask. rofl)
You need to edit this file. You can simply do this by right click it once and take open with.. (depends the language of your system, i got openen met... and thats dutch) the simpliest way to open it is with notepad (once again, depends on your language of your system)

You'll find something like set realmlist us.blablabla.ext and something like set patchlist us.blablalba.ext Don't watch on the blablabla.ext thing..
Select everything from it or simply press ctrl+a.
and press Delete or Backspace.
Now we have to put 1 line of information back, otherwise your WoW can't connect to any thing.
Well this depends on the server you want to play.

Actually this hasn't the meaning to advertise my server but i will use it as an example.

First you need to have an account on the server where you want to play. For example you can go to www.finalwow.game-host.org and create one or to an other website who provide free private server playing.
Mostly there is on the website an little information like the name (duhh) and the realmlist. Now the realmlist is important now.
Just as an example my realmlist:
finalwow.game-host.org
there isn't a www. or a /
what we have to do is get this in the realmlist.wtf

type in:
set realmlist finalwow.game-host.org

You can also place an other.
the patchlist isn't important.
Now save the file or just press ctrl+s.

Now you should be able to play if you have the right patch that the server supports.
If it says that the account don't exist you mostly got to wait 5-10 minuts. Depends on the configuration of the server.

I hope i've explained it in noob-style so everybody can understand it.

You change your realmlist.wtf file in your world of warcraft directory (C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\realmlist.wtf) (open with notepad).
Then, change the first line to your servers realmist.
