[Help] Ive a Big problem
Hi Ive got a client patched to tbc v2.0.12.
Ive also got a lan server but I cant connect.
On the server it allows my ip to connect but my client wont connect, it always goes to (Ip:12.129.242.21)
Ive changed the realmlist to my server, ports open ect.
Now the weird thing I tryed to play on another private server and changed the realmlist to their ip and it still goes to (Ip:12.129.242.21)
Is the problem with wow.exe or have I forgotten to edit something in the client
I forgot to say I get no realmlist to select.

Re: [Help] Ive a Big problem
You running the server from the same PC ? if so what Ip did you set the .conf files to. they should be 127.0.0.1 by default.
Keep them at 127.0.0.1 and also don't change the realmd mysql file to be you wan ip, rather add a line with your wan ip but keep the 127.0.0.1 on by default.
Now change your realmlist to .set realmlist 127.0.0.1 and you should be able to play :). Other players not playing from the same comp should put your wan ip instead of 127.0.0.1 to connect.

Re: [Help] Ive a Big problem
Well setting the realmlist to 127.0.0.1 on the computer you're connecting from (aka the one with W@W installed on) would be in correct, that would mean it's connecting to itself but you said you've got 2 separate machines if I understood correctly. You want to set the IP to the IP of the server. It's usually something like 192.168.1.10 or 10.10.1.10 or something.

Re: [Help] Ive a Big problem
Set your realmlist to 127.0.0.1 and run WoW.exe don't run the launcher.

Re: [Help] Ive a Big problem
So it changes the ip back to 12.129.242.21 after you made it 127.0.0.1 ? You are changing the realmlist.wtf in your WoW folder right ?

Re: [Help] Ive a Big problem
No the realmlist stays at what I set it
Is it possible that the wow.exe has some weird protection ?

Re: [Help] Ive a Big problem
Seems unlikely. I mean the realmlist should tell the WoW.exe to where it should connect =/ post a screenshot of your wow folder if you will.

Re: [Help] Ive a Big problem
There are only two things that can make this happen.
- You use the Launcher to start WOW. (Use wow.exe from the directory and not a shortcut applied from the installation of WOW)
- You haven't set the IP of you're server in realmlist.wtf
In a previous reply you stated that you had removed launcher.exe from wow, i still see it in you're screenshot.

Re: [Help] Ive a Big problem
Oh, and don't use a space in the name of you're original realmlist.wtf.
It's possible wow.exe still used the old one.

Re: [Help] Ive a Big problem
You could try setting your IP on your pc to manual, and if you on a router add a dns.
Try:
changing your tcp/ip settings to:
192.168.1.1 "computer number 1"
and
192.168.1.2 for the 2nd pc, and so on.
Now for subnet make sure it's 225.225.0
And defaultgateway "assuming you have a hub/router"
change to: 192.168.1.254
Now open realmlist.wtf and change it to 192.168.1.1 or the ip of the machine the server is running on.
Open sqlyog "or navicat" and open realmd db, now change the realmlist so the ip is: 192.168.1.1 or what the ip is of the comp your serving on.
Leave mangos and realm .conf as 127.0.0.1
Finaly, check your host file make sure it only has 127.0.0.1 and nothing else.
This should let you connect to your server.
Altho, it could be an issue of when you ran wow before changing the realmlist.wtf, it's connected to the us blizz server, and has auto updated, you might have todo a clean install of wow, then install TBC, and then patch up to 2.0.12.
Hope this helps, as i've ran into this issue in the past, and this is what I did to sort it out.
When on a network of more than 1 pc, it's always best to manuly add ip's, as sometimes if it's all automatic, xp will chnage the ip.

Re: [Help] Ive a Big problem
Sorry Ive not replyed here I was away for a few days.
Ill go through the post here and try it all out and let you all know what happens :)
halfox: (In a previous reply you stated that you had removed launcher.exe from wow, i still see it in you're screenshot.)
just before screen shot I reset the client to original state so I could try out the ideas I got in this thread :)
halfox: Ill remove the (realmlist orig.wtf) from client its is the bak up.
EvilRyu:All 4 computers have manual ips.
Ok this may sound nooby but this server is running on (sql 2000) not mysql, in one of the readme docs it said sql2000.
I have no idea about mysql but with sql2000 Ive np, maybe I should restart from the begining ?
Is there somthing else Ive got to do with wow client ? i.e. command line, edit the exe ?
Ive installed mysql and antrix the server seems to work but yet again the client (new installed) always connects to another ip.
I installed/patched the client offline pulled the network plug out.
removed the launcher / background downloader.
Edited the realm list to my ip.
Tryed both 192.168.0.xx / 127.0.0.1
Realm list stays at the ip Ive put there.
But always connects to us.scan.worldofwarcraft.com, atm its set on (ask) with my (sygate firewall)
