Hello i am wanting to host a WoW server for some friends and such to play on and was wondering if my specs and connection would be enough

PC Specs:

Intel Q6600 Quad Core CPU OCED to 3GHZ
8gigs Patriot DDR2 Memory
3.5TB's Storage space
Windows XP x64bit Edition

Connection Spec:
10mb down
5mb up.


now roughly how many players would my pc/connection be able to handle.

also is there a pack that can be run in windows or should i try running a linux in vmware. Thanks for your time and help.

If each character is roughly 3-4KB/sec of data, do the math.

You can hold a shitload.

thanks for the quick reply on the connection side but how bout the if the server can be fully run on windows. This is the pc i used to run my kamikaze-RF Online server with so i thought it would be crap to let it just sit there.
