How to correctly install WoW 2.0.12?

I installed World of Warcraft as explained here:

First you need WinRAR.
Download it here: http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm

First let's download the main client: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/downloads/wowclient-download.html
Run and finish the installer.

Now we need to update the client.
So download and install these files (in order):

Patch 2.0.X to 2.0.3: http://files.filefront.com/WoW+203+enUS+patchexe/;6502131;/fileinfo.html
Patch 2.0.3 to 2.0.12: http://files.filefront.com/World+of+Warcraft+v203+to+v2012+US+Patch/;7120432;/fileinfo.html

Using MaNGOS as server, I downloaded the new map extractor.
But then I get an error. It says: Error opening: expansion.MPQ
Then I look into my folder and the file is not there!
How can I solve this?

Depending on where you got your map extractor from, it will only extract from version 1.12.1. This is likely where your error lies, the client you downloaded is 2.0.0.
