MaNGOS 2.0.8 login hangs at handshaking if account has toons

Installed and ran server locally and was able to logon and play for a number of hours. TRied to login approx 20 hours later and login hangs at Handshaking. Created a new account and was able to log right on. Created a toon under new account, logged out and then tried to log back in but hangs at Handshaking again. Anyone experience this?

It appears that I need to .save while I'm in game to prevent the hangup at handshaking. I created a new account, created a new toon, .level 70, gave toon some gear then I .save. Logged out and then was able to log back in with no problems. I'm new to this so I guess it would make sense to have to .save <shrug>. Anywy, I think I solved my problem. I would enjoy seeing any replies that may suggest I was an idiot and now I'm on the right path, or I just got lucky and that's not what the problem was rather just a coincidence.
