[Mangos] ItemDB Changes taking effect

How long does it take for item changes to take effect and what needs to be done to implement them in a running server?

Considering I use the mangos DB manager application and I change or create a new item. Is are the changes to the server instant, do I only need to relog the WoW client? Or do I need to wait for a certain time interval or just restart the server alltogether?

You need to close down the server, close wow then remove WDB folder start the server, login and the changes should have taken effect
