    MaNGOS logs in, but cannot get into game server

    I've recently created a private server, I'm running mangos rev2819 and SDB Changeset 24. The server works well on my lan but my friends cannot connect. They can log in and see the realm selection. my server appears but when it trys to connect it just sits there for A while then display the realm selection again. I have port 8085 forwarded properly just as i have set in the mangos config file. Could there be any other reason other than a router problem that may be overlooking. Any thoughts would be greatly appriciated.

    You're missing ports to forward.

    I had that problem too, then I just forwarded the ports, and all went fine.

    ok ports 3427-3800 should be forwarded to your pc , directly, as should 8805 in your config files use your lAN ip as the host ip for everything BUT the address table in the realmd databases realmlist table , set this IP to your PUBLIC one ie the one everyone sees. save all this and you should be good to go , i had the exact same issues. and did the steps i mentioned and now everything is up and working fine. and im using Mangos REV 2800 so it should work for you as well.

    That is quite wierd because that is exactly what I did and when I use my WAN IP it tells my that the host is not allowed to connect to this MYSQL server. If I put my router IP, it tells me the host 'computeruse' (different name) is not allowed to connect to the server either. it only works on localhost. Is their a way to allow them to connect?

    EDIT:: Figured out the WAN problem. When you create your mangos user for the table, instead of loclhost, select a text field and type in your WAN IP. Then, in your realmlist table in your realmd database, change the default ip of 127.0.0.1 to your WAN IP.

    you have to allow it in your privllages thing in the admin.php default it will say Root@localhost you have to allow your thing to let your Name@host have full acess

    Well, I use phpmyadmin so all I did was create a new user called mangos, gave that user all the rights to the mangos and realmd database and then added my WAN IP under host. That IP can then connect to MySQL databases on my server comp. The easier the better lol.

    ok i'll do a step by step for you,

    1. set both the ips in the mangosd and realmd configs to your LAN IP ie 192.168.1(0 depending on router type).#(your LAN IP # here ex 1,5,105 etc), use this same IP in your mangos DB handler config for both mangosd and realmd db's.
    2. forward the ports i mentioned to YOUR LAN IP not public or "localhost".
    3. Grant Full permissions on the mangos and realmd db's to whatever username you used to setup mysql.
    4. open the realmd database and the realmlist tables in the ADDRESS field put your public ip ie the one everyone would see on the net. and in the dbinfo field if your using the website addons put your LAN ip;3306;username;password;

    that SHOULD work if it isnt then there is something else wrong with you're config.

    By the way, I did get it working ever since my last post lol, unless you posted again for the other guy. And it would be much easier to call the 'public' IP WAN, just because that's what it's actual name is and other people refer it as. It stands for Wide Area Network for those who didn't know.
