My MAngos Wishlist

ok i realize a lot of this is covered in some other threads but i am NOT having any luck finding valid clear answers to these questions so please bear with me and excuse the repetitiveness of some of this.


1. the mount trainer fix either by fixing the npc's themselves or creating items that will replace the mounts,also include class quest fixes and pets being unbugged for hunters and any other broken class.

2. the reason behind the infamous 0004331 map being outdated error with mangosd.exe and how to fix this without having the client on the host pc (i cant make new map files with ad.exe without it )

3. what programs i need to extract the .mpq files so i can make my own dbc's possibly helping fix problem #1

4. and item/spell /npc editor so that i cna create my own of each and place them in the gameworld without just editing existing ones. as well as a quest editor.

5. HOW DO I get mangos to broadcast my server to the net i have the configs ALL set to my private lan ip NOT localhost which is supposed to fix this ( people can connect but keep timing out at the logging into server part when connecting, to be more specific you get to char selection screen and it just sits at logging into server, and times out.)

6. how to update to the latest revision of mangos (2806) im using rev 2800 and the sql batches for 2806 are incompatible ( saying certain tables dont exist or unexpected rows in tables etc)

7. all of this in one place for easy access so i and many others dont have to search ALL over the place to find answers to these and any other questions that pop up.

now my mangos is rev 2800 with the 1.12.2 dbcs and the db revisions that GDM posted with is rev 2800 link in the other thread about the mangosd.exe problem .

Yo man, I don't know too much about this. Yeah, it's a little repetative. Any MODERATOR who bitches about this one needs to just hold up and think for two seconds and ask what would they do in this situation? I've heard so many people get hassled about repetative threads it's unreal. Is it so hard for someone to post a clear answer once in a while, instead of saying 'search search search!'?? Sheesh. anyway, hopefully someone that can help with our issues will post clear concise answers to each of the issues presented so that this thread can be referred to for reference in the future by me and anyone else that experiences similar issues because it will certainly beat jumping around between 50 different threads and having to read thru sometimes 15 pages of posts just to find one particular answer and even then it might not be as clear or understandable as you would like.

#5 fixed : setup every config in mangos to your lan ip except the address in the realmd, realmlist table set THAT to your external ip and you can connect with no issues from outside the lan.

ok mount trainer part of #1 fixed, just extracted fresh set of DBC files from my client to my mangos dir and they started working fine. still working on fix for hunter class quest to learn tame beast an whatnot tho.

#3: I use mywarcraftstudio to extract most MPQs, and MPQEditor for all the MPQs mywarcraftstudio has problems with. I use DBCUtil to convert DBCs to CSV, then edit them with CSVed. Also, when repacking or creating MPQs, I find mywarcraftstudio is the best; MPQEditor f*(ks them up proper. >,<
