What port are you using? I tried with FileZilla, and this is what I get:
    Error: Disconnected from server
Error: Could not retrieve directory listing
    Error: Timeout detected!

    EDIT: Here's the full log.
    Code:
    Status:	Connecting to 74.109.178.187 ...
Status:	Connected with 74.109.178.187. Waiting for welcome message...

    Command:	USER wowfiles
Response:	331 User name okay, need password.
    Command:	PASS ************
Response:	230-Hello welcome to my ftp server fuck with my files and you die hehe

    Response: SIZE

    Response: XCRC filename;start;end
    Response: MODE Z
    Response:	 MLST Type*;Size*;Create;Modify*;Win32.ea*;
    Response:	211 End
    Status:	Connected
    Status:	Retrieving directory listing...
    Command:	PWD
Response:	257 "/" is current directory.
    Command:	MODE Z
    Response:	200 MODE Z ok.
Command:	OPTS MODE Z LEVEL 8
Response:	200 MODE Z LEVEL set to 8.

Response:	200 Type set to A.
    Command:	PASV
    Error:	Disconnected from server

    Error:	Timeout detected!
As you can see, it connects OK, but then times out instantly. All happens within a matter of seconds.
