Prob w/ Ascent core 1817

Ok, usually I'm pretty decent with the emu scene. been working since the old 1.10 patch days. Here's the problem, I decided to update my core from the old Antrix 2.1.0 edition finally and I come here and download what is supposebly "what I need" problem is, when I execute the DB the newest one, the PS Life Rev. I'm trying to run it with the Ascent 1817 core but it crashes the core. When starting ascent with a blank DB I have no troubles, starts fine, but crashes no matter which of the new DBs I try. I've tried the Milestone DB and PS DB. Any feedback would be greatly appriciated.

Ok, problem A fixed, np good stuff. Now i have a problem B though. I cannot make a character, basically says "creating character" then nothing shows up. it's not putting the data in the DB like it should. console says nothing to the effect of creating character or anything so any insight to this one? :)
