i recommend a complete uninstall, then, before redownloading, run a registery cleaner to ensure all the backup data is deleted, then reinstall.
Personally, i would recommend using xampp instead.

Hi,
i had the same problem, i fixed it by uninstalling Mysql 5 and wamp 5.
Then i reinstalled the wamp 5, after that it worked perfect.
I think it was caused by Mysql 5 or it used wrong password..well hope this helps ya :P

try tinkering with the password parts

With wamp you sometimes need to make another user in the phpmyadmin site then switch config or connect details to that user/password.

if you still have the original problem goto servises and i think the service is wamp5-mysql
