what apart from the .net emus need 3.5? afaik only wcell uses that...
and you need this download instaled to can install net framework 3.5
neither of you 2 answered my question lol...the vs installer includes .net 3.5... why would ppl want to install it unless you want to run a wcell server?
You know there are two other emus that also are compiled often in Visual studio 2008, Ascent and Mangos, so is a must if you plan on running a WoW server. Also if you want to get rid of those errors, get the standalone .net 3.5 from microsoft page, ist about 192 MB but has all you need to install frameworks from scratch, afaik windows installer 3.1.
i give a link with windows installer 3.1.
i don't spam
You don't need VS Pro, the Express versions are free and just as good. And yes you can download it from Microsoft. If you know so much why haven't you looked this up yourself? Why do you keep arguing and not accepting the answers we give. I'll say it again.
.NET 3.5 is needed for applications compiled under VS 2008, as most people use VS 2008 to compile Ascent, Magnos, and many other emu's it's a necessary install.
As for your installation problem, you haven't really told us what the problem is, any error messages?
Try the .Net 3.5 redistributable package. Should work, unless you got a broken OS. vLite/nLite maybe?
If you still can't get it to work, contact MS.
have you even read the entire thread? im perfectly aware of how things work, how vs works and how .net works. You people are the most confused bunch ive ever seen... You havent actually answered my question if you read up... Although you just did. While reading up on microsoft's page, .net seems still to be needed for <spelling> on the dlls created by vs2k8. Something i find extremely ironic hah...
oh well ascent is a dying emu...wont be long before its overtaken...
