Question for creating a private server - 2.0.12

Hey guys, I've been getting my head around how to get a private server up & whatnot. I've seen a couple of guides posted here, but i have a few questions.

1. I like the "[Guide]Creating a MaNGOS 1.12.1 Private Server" guide, but the version seems old. Is there a way to use the guide but use updated files while still using the SDB & SQL files linked?

2. I've noticed updated repacks "mangos rev 3777 and 3801" how do i use these? Are they worth looking into for a noob like myself?

3. Any direct links to a "Guide to private servers for complete dropkicks" would be much appreciated. I'm kind of slow like that.

4. Is it possible to just get a completed download that i can just install and run?

And help would be much appreciated.

if you want 2.1 i suggest using antrix cause there's more stability. buti heard mangos is good too.

I was origionally thinking 2.1. But it's probably still to early for stability. 2.0.12 should be ok if there isnt any decent 2.1.

antrix is pretty stable. but the damn instances wont load.

So what would be the best road to go down?

Antrix, Straight Mangos or Silvermoon?

How bout those questions at the OP?
