Yes, I know what your program does, and I understand how it backs up the accounts files by not exporting any other tables, just accounts.
But like I said, anytime I use mdh to backup accounts, I get major issues "no items in inventorys/no clothing ect.."
The way I backup works 100%, and i've never had any errors or issues doing it this way.
I understand what your saying, but for me it just don't work, thats why I backup using sqlyog.

Problem:
MDH gives an error with .netframework "im running .net2" and says continue or quit.
What the problem is doing:
It's restarting the server while people are on it, and disconnecting people on the server.
What i've done:
I've ran just the emulator and the realm without mdh for 2 days, and no errors, server does not reboot, and people don't get disconnected.
I think for now i'll just run my server without mdh untill there is an update, or if you have any ideas, there are more than welcome.
If you require a log output for this error, let me know.

sorry for the waiting but i got really low time in these days.
If you are using the server management functionality (the restarter), disable it from the config menu with Mangos closed. There is a known problem that makes the program crash if mangos is ALREADY opened when starting MDH with the server management opened.
If you want to use the restarter, START MANGOS FROM INSIDE MDH for now.

To sort out problems please try to start MDH DIRECTLY from the exe inside the folder where you installed. This should fix your problem while i work on a solution.

I've updated to the latest revision... and thanks for all your work, this is a really slick little program. I have a question though. It may have more to do with my current MaNGOS revision than my databases, or your program though.
If I create a new item, I can't go back and edit it. Now I honestly can't say anything about current in game items because I didn't want to fool with them, but once my item was created, it stayed that way. I can change the database numbers all I want, but the item is forced in game to be the same as the first one I created.
Example: I went through the creation of the item but forgot to add a model number. therefore all I got was this lousy ? Should be simple enough to fix, but when I chose a model number for it, it never updated. To test this out further, I changed the items description, deleted the item from my character and then recreated it. still the same original item I created improperly. Then I created a second item, this time I plugged in all the same numbers but a different item number, and now added the proper model number. The item didn't work in game.
I have at least figured that I need to restart the server when I add new items. (I'm not sure if this needs to be done)
but my question is, can items be updated? Or once an item is loaded by the server, is its data is locked in? This by the way is the same problem I ran into with WoWemu. It seemed that it took data from your items and hard saved them to your World.save. I just assumed that since MaNGOS had the SQL database... items could be updated without removing them from the server.
I'm running the 3184 server
This may be able to be fixed by clearing my cache... I havn't tried this yet but, here is a similar problem fixed by clearing the cache.

Hey i have a problem with this program when i try and edit my character??
I tried to change his stats to all 255 (which i believe is the max for base stats?) and his highest ever rank to Grand Marshal (so i can use the PvP items), but everytime i do this, click edit, save it, restart the servers... it comes out exactly the same as before??

cabilo: Have you attempted to restart the MySQL db, and the Mangos server? I have found that if I didn't actually restart the mySQL server, the changes wouldn't take effect.

Im not sure but after the small amount of work i did with MDB Although a very good program i dont think it is working on the new 2.0.8, U can update it thro the actual program itself to a newer revision... Also u have to fill in ur own sql access info in the bar on the right...

I fixed the problem. Here is the deal...if you are running DJRavine's 2.0.8 repack (I don't know what core it is), you HAVE to update your MDH to revision 254.
I tried, but it crashed while applying the updates and thus never completed. I was able to manually download the updates and install them one by one, and now the program is working.
So, go to the updater and select revision 254 and update it. If your computer crashes as it updates, the patch DID not apply correctly. You will have to download the parts separately and install them that way (install by simply extracting into the root directory).
Hopefully this helps some of you.
Here are the updates you have to download and apply (if your updater crashes like mine did) - this is to get your MDH up to revision 254.

Feal87, I love your program! Easy to use and effective, keep up the good work!
I do have one request though. When editing the items database, the Model ID field does not accept model IDs from The Burning Crusade (the numbers are too large).
I think you are using a 'short' (short int) variable for that field. If you could release a new core with that field using a larger variable, it would be much appreciated! This way we can all use the new Burning Crusade item models when making new items.

i am currently using tbc 2.0.8 server release by DJ ravine and i just inserted the silvermoon project database in it.
well MDH was working perfectly until 2 days ago... i really dont know what i did to mess up mdh but i rely myself on this useful tool alot....
and now i cant use it...
i have an errore saying :

I am getting the exact same error on 2.0.8. I will try to reinstall mdh from scratch,, was working fine was even able to edit chars but now it stopped working... i was messing with realmd so maybe this has something to do with it. Let me know if you find the solution tks!
Well i resintalled mysql, mdh ()latest release and updated )and redid the silvermoon db from scratch, imported realmd and same issue...hmm weird. Mangos loads fine, game runs fine just can t edit anything in mdh and get this error at startup :

It seems to be able to log into the bd but it cannot retrieve any tables, everything is at 0, items etc. What i dont get lol is why it worked the first time with the silvermoon database...

MDH 254 supports mangos 3254+ cores... Depends on what core the 2.0.8 server released by DJ ravine was compiled with.

I just installed it on my Server using DJR's Build and I get the same thing, Mine says that same error "Value cannot be Null" when it gets to the Area Triggers. Anybody elses freezing at that same point?

I managed to fix that error. If you have SQLyog, open it up, open mangos_bc (or whatever you have called it) and go to the areatrigger_template table.
Sort the entries by name and if any of the boxes say (NULL) in the name column then click on the box and press the delete key. That seemed to fix it for me but then I get the number too high/low bug when I try to open the character modification panel thingy =(

I also tried revision 222, and the revision before that, and the very first revision, but that ones gave me the same error

If you want use MDH with Silvermoon database then you will have to do this:
* Open your database in SQLYog.
* Right Click on "areatrigger_template", and select "view data".
* Click on the label for the "name" column. This sort the field alphabetically.
* Click on each of the "(NULL)" entries you see in the name field and hit the DEL (delete) key.
* Click the Save Button to save changes and close SQLYog.
* Open MDH, and everything should work fine.

My friend and I have the newest version of WoW and we are trying to find a DB/Item Handler. We have the mangos one but that one is incompatible with the newest version of WoW. Any suggestions on what to use or what to download?(links if possible please :D )
