What's new in v1.8:
*Rune system works! (Thanks to Kaldorei for helping out)
*Updated to latest MaNGOS core 6055
*DK's death coil should now work
*Only one presence can be used at a time (frost presence etc)

*Some fixes for Runic power.(temp fix) They can be casted but with no cost, until its fixed 100%
*Players will now start with full weapon skills
*Death Knights will not anymore start with low hp
*added a weapon master at the shopping mall (Thanks to Zilver)
*Client crash fixed when completing quests
*Quest log display bug fixed
*Updated to latest MaNGOS Core (6040)
*other small fixes

I haven't added any more custom spawns in northrend. Waiting for more official information and then replace them with blizzlike.

What's new in v1.6:
*Updated server to client build 8391 and 8392, update client if you haven't
*Updated to latest MaNGOS core 6017
*DBC files are updated to latest patch
*A deathknight trainer is added at DK starting zone and shopping mall(Thanks to newfang!)
*Some more spells should work (not runic power yet)
*Disabled Merciless combat talent (no more talent crashes)
*Changed to correct stats and name for Death knight's cloak and sword
*Changed to correct Display ID for Cloak of Malice (DK cloak)
*Added option in mangosd.conf, PlayerStartGold, edit starting money
*Added option in mangosd.conf, StartDeathknightLevel, edit DK starting lvl

"For those upgrading from v1.4, you need to replace all of the new .dll, .exe, and .dbc files.
Also, the mangos.sql and talent update sql included are the only ones that need to be run
on the databases. Any custom items may be deleted however, so you may want to make a backup
first. Also, use ad.exe in the client folder after applying the new patch and replace the
maps in the server folder" - credits goto mach1920

This is using the WOTLK - Wrath of the Lich King Alpha version
released to Friends & Family. version 8391
The full real WOTLK is due out late November 2008

Mike has been working on Death Knight database which works
with most spells, DK gear & some quests

Mike is up to version 1.9 now - but links removed

Welcome to the World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Friends and
Family Alpha. The list below contains information on the current
available content for testing and general information.
This information is subject to change.

General
- The continent of Northrend is now available! To travel there, visit
one of four transportation masters in either Orgrimmar, Undercity,
Theramore,or Menethil Harbor.
- Transportation between Howling Fjord and Borean Tundra can be found
at the Tuskarr villages in those zones.
- Portals from Shattrath to Vengeance Landing, Warsong Hold, Valgarde
and Valiance Keep can be found in the Terrace of Light.
- The level cap is currently set to 75.
- NPC Transportation Locations
Horde:
Undercity to Vengeance Landing (Howling Fjord)
Orgrimmar to Warsong Hold (Borean Tundra)
Alliance:
Menethil Harbor to Valgarde (Howling Fjord)
Theramore to Valiance Keep (Borean Tundra)

Known Issues
- The current patch notes are incomplete, but will be more
comprehensive in the next patch.
- Northrend portals may sometimes not function properly.
- Several Death Knight talents, although they will appear on the
talent pane, are not yet implemented.


World Environment Zones
- The following zones are available for testing: Howling Fjord, Borean
Tundra, Dragonblight, and Grizzly Hills

Dungeons
- The following dungeons are available for testing:
Howling Fjord: Utgarde Keep (70-72)
Borean Tundra: The Nexus (70-72)
Grizzly Hills: Drak'Tharon Keep (74-76)

Classes
- All Classes are available for play. Spells and talents will be
available for testing past 70 for the following classes: Druid, Mage,
Priest, Shaman, Warlock,and Warrior.
- The Death Knight Hero class is now available for play.
Creating a new Death Knight will start you at level 55 in Eastern
Plaguelands.
No starting quests are implemented though Death Knight abilities will
be available for testing.

Professions
- The following tradeskills are available to train up to 450: First
Aid, Herbalism, Mining, and Skinning.

Bugs
- Fixed a bug that would cause the streaming client to frequently
crash.
- Fixed a bug that would allow players to get stuck in Wyrmrest Temple.
- Fixed a hole in the world inside Drak'Tharon Keep.

um my client doesn't upgrade past 8334 and i think it is cuz i grabbed an older client (i grabbe the original alpha befor htey changed the links) so i need the downloaders lol
