What's the proper/better way to update your database?
"Restore from SQL dump" (SQLyog) or "Execute batch file" (NaviCAT)?
Is there a difference at all? If yes, is it safer (in the way of not corrupting your old data) to do it on a specific way?

I think many would like a guide how to add stuff into your world without ruin it. like in some cases you would have a nice running world, and dont need to start all over, but only need a few updates added, thats were iam lost how to do that. I do use SQL updates, but some times they wont add, and then iam lost once more :-( since i dont know how to get around that problem.

Fastest and only proper way is MySQL.exe (so no SylOG or Navicat needed).
Using it in "--localhost" mode (dumping direct to disk, bypassing the SQL service), will do the whole database (>100Mb) in less then 2 minutes ;) !!
Create a inject.bat batch file like this:Replace colored data with your own credentials and save.set user=username
set pass=password
set db=databasename
set pathsql="C:\program files\MySQL Server 5.2\bin"
%pathsql%\mysql.exe --local-infile -f -h localhost --user=%user% --password=%pass% %db% <%1

After that, dump any sql file on the inject.bat icon to start importing.
Isn't updates when you do a data tranfer in Navicat lol
