    static ip

    1 more toptic sorry i know i make much to ask

    but really need to know this i am so close to make my server online

    anyway i need a static ip ( heard its verry easy to do ) anyway i have no clue and i saw a guide but i am scared when i do someting wrong i lose my internet or on my others comp is this true :P?

    please help me out :police:

    EDIT: do i really need static ip or do i have a static ip already?

    static ip means that you have the same ip evrytime right?

    Well evry site i check says i have the same IP :P

    are you running on a wirless or just6 a normal router?? because that can sometimes be the problem which makes you not have a static ip address, if i was you i'd switch back to wired direct from pc to modem should automatically set you ip to static =/ its just a thought btw

    yer that may be your problem, i had one to, routers don't stick to the same ip adress all the time, you would need to be rectly connected to your modem for a static ip, there may be other way to get a static ip using a router though i'm not sure, have your tryd searching on google? use a very specific search ie something like " Static ip adress with router" =]

    ok i have a static IP NOW ! ZOMG ZOMG

    do i have to use this for everyting now? for port opening etc.?

    Lol, you can still have a static IP with a router. Just right-click on your network connection, goto properties, and manually configure the IP address.
