Tame quest for hunter not work

im used mangos rev 2838, use sdb 0.5.3,

i have problem with orc/troll hunter, they can't get tame quest at level 10

the hunter trainer npc never give quest for get pet

anyone can help me, how to fix it ?

and how about npc riding, still not work too at this rev ...

[Note: new sql update 2842_character_pet.sql]Big pet code reorganization. All pets (summons/tamed/guardians/mini-pets) now Pet objects. guardians/mini-pets now not stored in Player::GetPet() and can be summoned in parallel with summons/tamed pets. Mini-pets is always neutral now, Mini-pets/guardians can't be controlled. Current Summons/tamed pets now showed in character selection window with selected character. Tamed elite pets lost elite bonuses (if this bonuses selected in code base at creature rank value).

after 2842, pets will work better ;) about quest... sry i cant help, because i dont know not about that quest.

same with me, i just edited the player start spells to add tame beast, feed pet, and call pet, so I would stop being bugged to help them learn it.

To edit your quests, get MDH - Mangos Database Handler (you can search for it on this forum...)

To answer the first question:

you then go into the specific character having a quest issue and edit the quest set it to incomplete....this will still make it active...and your player will be able to redo the quest.....if you updated to the latest version where they fixed the pets bugs..

I have the problem as well.

If you're an Orc hunter you can't complete the quest on the "Taming the Beast" quest at Razor Hill.

I had no problems taming the dire mottled boar with the taming rod. In my quest log it says the quest is completed. When I return back to Thotar to complete the quest, Thotar still thinks the quest is not completed yet!

In short you can't get a pet!

I am using MaNGOS 2806 & SDB 0.5.3 Changeset 20.

Jelsoft.....check my reply just above....try using MDH to change the status of your quest "taming..." put it to incomplete....and redo the quest in the game....

I am happy to report that MaNGOS 2848 with SDB 0.5.3 *Changeset 30* 2843 fixes the issue with the quest.

The quest can now be completed. :holiday:
