    Unable to validate version

Looking around I am almost certain I know why I am having this problem, I just want to verify and see if there is a way around it. I play WoW on blizzards servers usually, so I am running the most current version of the client. I just got done setting up a wow server on my own computer using mangos and updating it to the most current version listed in the binaries thread. When I try to connect to it, I get the message indicating that it is unable to validate version. Am i correct in assuming that the client version is newer than any of the current binaries for the server? If thats the case, is there a way to have two intalls of the client...one kept up to date and the other running the version that your server needs? Also, how can i verify what version my server is so I can double check that everything is the right version?

yeah , you need to just install a second WoW in a different folder / directory , and then update it to the version required by the emulated wow server. as for checking the version of the wow emu server i dont have a clue you'd have to ask someone else.

How would I get it to the required version? After installing, shouldn't it try to update to the most current? Is there some way to manually update wow to just a specific point?

you would need to reinstall , then download all the patches up to the point for which you wish to update(based on the server you play on) i wouldnt only update on its own if you are trying to play the WoW retail version on thier network / realmlist

good luck , im not sure what your asking

In order to have a second installation of WoW you have to delete a couple of regkeys. It might be easier for you to just copy your WoW to another folder, uninstall it, then reinstall and update to whatever version the server emu you choose requires.
