Wanting to set up a server

I'm interested in starting a server. questions:

1)what kind of server shold i get? i was thinking offsite. any good sites? and what specs should i get on it, just to start it?

2)are there any bugless compilations?
or, better question, are there any 3.1.x server compilations with the few bugs? as in, which one has least..i could get some people to hammer those out. i've noticed in most servers, hunters skills are bugged, totems don't work, and all pets are dumb/broken. plus, flight pathing is kinda messed up, going thru floors.

assist please. im just looking at requirements. i'd like to start this, but i doubt i have enough.

well depending on the server type, you'd need a bare minimum of 512kb ram 10gb storage would more than suffice, one that supports installation of custom software, or possibly one that comes with external mysql databases, as if the mysql is hosted externally means leans memory used on the server (takes bit more config but does work)!

as for the compilations, most of bugs just depends on which bugs, suggest playing with all diff compilations locally before uploading, and seein which is more suited to you.
