damn, if you dont like private servers, then leave.
personally i find the development fun, i dont play so much as i code.
and there are some emu's that look promising (namely delfin) it already has weather, and othner stuff.
anyway 20 australian dollars a month is too much for me, and even then i would get a crap ping on adls cos there are no true australian servers. sure theres the vegemite (or something???) server and the bathurst one but they suck

i agree with extermin8tor, i love to just sit around and mess with all the things, make my own items and all that, i still play reg. wow too, and i still get in a good 12+hours a week, even with school and work and all. so stfu and leave if u dont like em, stop bitching to us about what you thinkis rigth and wrong.
my other main reason for not playing reg. wow as often anymore is that all the "raiding guilds" are too damn picky, ive been 60 for a good 2 months now, and none of them will take me, even with some pretty good gear. it just pisses me off that they can't have fun without habing the best stuff.

People like you, Xtorsion. That's why I play private servers, so I don't have to deal with people like you, and the guild you're undoubtedly in. I had three 60s in retail, the first of which took for-fking-ever to get there because my server was full of retards. Every single time i was in a good guild, it got ruined by greed. Hence, I started playing greed-free private servers. They taste delicious.
That, and I don't have to find 39 idiots every time I want to kill something.

first of all, for people who say they play WoW to test the game but never seem to play the real thing... you are sadly missing out on so much the real game has to offer. I use to play on private servers and like you all, laughed at people paying on offical, but one day i decided to test how it compaired to the emus and i can tell you that ive never looked back and if i knew that official was gonna be SO much better than the emus... I wouldn't have wasted my time on emus. Sure on emus we can change what we like, but we cant even play that properly cause of all the bugs, so what would be the point of getting to lvl60 fast and getting tier 3 items if they dont even work properly???
Getting into a end game raiding guild isn't hard on official and the feeling and the rush you get when you first enter MC with 39 other people is awsum, the feeling of domo summoning rags is a rush which no emu can compair to... hell, the event doesnt even work on emus, let along the summoning. Emus only let you exprience the very basics of what the game has to offer and yet even that is limited.
This is all emulation.
Emulation is how we can emulate something, indeed there is bugs, but thats the whole point of this place, to report bugs and to get ways of fixing them.
If you play on the retail wow, why even bother to post here..
Go and play wow on the real server, and leave us to our emulation.
Fun to play the normal Wow,but having the chance to look through things and perhaps test the new instances out as a GM.... check places you dont get access to that fast...
+ you can play alone with your friends without having bitchy 10 year old kids running around on the server acting like asses

Sure testing is fun.... but what exactly are you testing???? testing bugs?? how can you test something if its not working properly???

Ok first off, no game works 100% with no bugs. 2nd, Of course Official going be better as far as bugs, updates, and etc. It's common sense, they got money, Dev. teams, and millions that can report bugs. Lol, like said before if you don't like emu why come to site? You really care if blizzard or some company doesn't make as much since there is emu? Even if emu don't work 100% being gm or on high rate server you can learn allot and test stuff out. Just funny some of things you guys say but I'm sure you saying same about what I just said. but there is other side of emus... u can visit such place as "outland" or "emerald dream"... besides if blizz wuodnt want us to make prvt servers they would cripted such files realmlist.wtf and many others... so... we are being used people... were the demo... ;(
you can enter emerld dream and outlands ant others on wowwow :) or on wowemu :)

private server emulation is not just about recoding what blizzard coded(at the moment it is but it won't stay like this)... Imagine WC3 Herowars on the whole WoW map for example(I'm already working on it), or other kinds of gameplay blizzard is too stupid to realize because they still think the players wanted more new items and instances... like Big Rewards when one faction invaded a capital city of the other faction...
The private servers will rule the gameplay fun of the official servers when it comes to creativity in new ways of gameplay(herowars, capture the flag(not just in battleground but in whole world), a game mode where players can hire npc to fight for them and run around with a small armee, and MANY more)!
P.S. and don't dare to steal any of these ideas without giving me credit :grin:

I have been also playing & paying for about a year now but its gets fustrating.
I like having a Fully Customizable solo game and the ability to create some ridiclous content -lol
i still play online but I also enjoy having my own server even more since wow is really not for solo players.

I could not agree more! I love pay-for-wow but I love having a wow "sand box" to test char builds and goof with mobs/loot/environment settings.
Because if you host a server (and it doesn't suck) you can make money...duh.
seriously....... i never played retail WoW but from what i hear it gets pretty boring.... The reason why i play private servers is because of what i hear about players just like you. You think you're all high and mighty because you play retail. Look, i dont care how many bugs these DB's may be as long as im doing what i like and getting the feeling and chance to do things you cant do in Retail WoW. At the same time im getting smarter getting better with these type of things. So plain and simple private servers may not be perfect but its fun and you get the chance to try out new things. creating ur own weapons and armor for yourself, feeling like the boss all of that you cant get in retail WoW and im glad i dont play retail WoW so i dont have to meet players like you. If you dont like private servers please dont post it here just go away.....
I just wouldn't pay for an online game when there is lots of free ones out there [conquer eudemons etc]
