would like 2 realms (Ascent)

you've all prolly read and some cases answered this a thousand times but here goes anyways

Ok., after recently getting my server up i have 1 blizzlike realm and would now like another, i was thinking funserver and i need guidance on how to do this any assistance will be greatly appreciated

As far as my expertise goes, I don't think that it's possible as of yet (having two completely different server setups.)

I only know of the private network vs. public network setup, but that still goes through one REAL server.

This was an issue that came up way back when... like MaNGOS, around four/five months ago.
However, I don't think it was ever resolved.
To the average WoW server hoster like me, I don't think its possible with some good outside help.

It probably would be possible with two different computers (because you specify addresses in the realms.conf).

Anyways, sure it's possible...got 7 realms running on 1 logon server; all different database, some even on different locations :)

Make 2 DB's ... after that u have 2 have 2 ascents ... make both ascent.conf files 2 route 2 your logonserver ... and have those 2 ascent files load 2 different DB's ... then make 1 seperate logonserver(character) DB ... and route the accounts 2 that DB ... that works 4 me :D ... IF THIS IS MAKING SENSE ... ye well hehe

To summarize all of that, set up your second server just like the first, with whatever realm settings you want, but when you go to enter your LogonServer information on the second realm, use the same logonserver configuration as the first server. Then run your logonserver on the same computer as the first server, and when you secondary "funserver" loads up, it should connect and login to the logonserver you're already running.

okthanks guys, i did all that anyways and it didnt work, kept turning into 2 realms 1 world if you understand, both realms had different databases 1 new 1 old, different folders and different cores, different setting bleh bleh bleh,,

anyways i found the problem why this was happening i was running it all on the same port e.g realm1 port 1000 and realm2 1000 = 2 realms 1 world, i fixed it by changeing the port for realm 2 so its now 1000 1001

anyways thanks guys for the help :D i now have 1 Blizzlike and 1 Funserver
