WOW Private Server Help

Hi
Just wondering if anyone could help me out.
Im running Ascent V1139 and SQLyog613 and wamp5_1.7.4 (becuase i followed wowapprentice.com guide to makeing a server. Which works by the way very well. but for my server i notice.. well its hard to miss that whenever i login and walk around there are no npc's or monsters. Anyone know why?
my version of WOW is 2.1.3 if that also has any relevence.

STRONGLY suggest fully updating

Ascent ver 2371
NCDB 656
Characterdb 2.3.0

and also update your wow to 2.3.0

old versions are logically no longer supported so you wont get a lot of help with old builds anymore

i do however know that various old builds did have NPC problems and updating to a newer version worked

Ok i installed all the new stuff and updated the database and changed the config files and deleted the die directeries but theres 1 problem. Whenever i run ascent it loads up everything but when it gets to the point where it says logon to server 127.0.0.1 it then says authenticating... then it says authenticating failure. then it starts to loop. Any ideas how to fix it?

ensure the remote password for the logon server is the same for both the ascent and logonserver conf files

<LogonServer RemotePassword = "pass"> for logonserver

<LogonServer DisablePings = "0"
RemotePassword = "pass"> for ascent

ALRIGHT i got it BUT still one more stupid problem.
When i run WOW and it goes to the page that shows the pictures and the little loading bar. Now when it hits the end it stays there. it just frezzes and its stuck at the laoding screen. any ideas?

i really dont know why it does that
all i can suggest is make sure you have all the SQL updates installed from the files page
if you get an error when applying them, it just means that your server already has the files

restart the server and reconnect is also sometimes all it needs

ive found poudning the keyboard can help too (well not really but it makes me feel better)

only thing that comes to mind is ensure you have the right ports forwarded to correct static IP
and also make sure your hosts file is updated

perhaps post ya conf (ascent realm and logonserver) files to help troubleshoot

Got same problem here. Just updated to Ascent 2379 and NCDB 659 and Character DB 2.3.0. Locates realm and server no prob but will go no further than loading screen.

i think that issue is covered in the FAQ's down the bottom

i got that at random times

nope. the FAQ pertains to a game crash at the end of the bar load. Mine just stops dead. The window and server files are still responsive. It's as if the client is waiting for a response from the server.

Okay. At this point I'm certain that this issue is NOT specific to any one server build. 3 different Ascent builds display the same error. SQL Updates have been applied and I'm not seeing any errors as .conf files load, so I'm guessing this is not a database problem.

Ascent notes that the player account has logged on, but the client cannot get past the loading screen. No errors on the screen or anything; it just stops there.

Thoughroughly confused here. Ascent 2371, 2372, 2375 and 2381 along with NCDB 654, 655 and 656 all produce the same problem. I'm sticking with 2381 and NCDB 656 and wait for an answer.

If you cannot get past the loading screen you obviously missed an update. Check the stickies and see if you can find it.

got it. final setup is Ascent 2379 and NCDB 656 w/ all updates. Everything works beautifully. I'm going to get some dinner now.

Yup i missed an update and i fixed it now it works.
Except... you guessed it. Another problem. Trainners. cant seem to get the
trainers to work on teaching pet and class skills. Any ideas?

did that then tried the trainer npc. and no go doesnt seem to work.
